10 Signs It’s Time for a UPS Battery Replacement

1. It’s been 3 to 5 years since the purchase date

While a UPS lifecycle can extend to 10+ years, the life cycle of many batteries is 3 to 5 years. It is best to consider a battery replacement in the 3-to-5-year range depending on the critical nature of the systems that the UPS is supporting. A best practice is to replace the UPS unit itself when the second battery replacement is ready, generally 6 to 10 years from date of purchase for on line and line interactive units. 2. The UPS is beeping or displaying caution lights
